Beiträge zur allgemeinen und vergleichenden Sprachwissenschaft
Contributions to General and Comparative Linguistics

Aims and scope

The themes discussed in the journal encompass issues concerning general and comparative linguistics in the wide sense of these terms. We welcome submissions from different linguistic disciplines, including not only general and comparative linguistics (i.e. phonology, morphology, syntax, and semantics) but also historical linguistics, pragmatics, sociolinguistics, psycholinguistics, neurolinguistics, and the philosophy of language. We also welcome research related to the applications of the results of contrastive studies in translation, communication studies, lexicography, language acquisition and language teaching. Not only is this journal a place for the exchange of views within the domestic context but also a means of transferring linguistic ideas from abroad. As a journal open to researchers from Poland, Europe, and the rest of the world, it enables the authors to publish papers in two languages: German and English.

We publish original empirical, theoretical, and review papers, as well as short research reports. The editors may occasionally decide to invite articles related to a specific topic. We do not publish reviews of works in the journal. The article review procedure complies with the guidelines of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education published in the document “Good Practices in Review Procedures in Science”, Warsaw 2011.
